Confessions of an Intern
Saturday, September 10, 2011 || 4:45 PM
God, I'm so darn sleepy that I'm pretty sure I can fall asleep within 30 seconds of contact with a bed. Feeling really odd on a Saturday, which makes it extremely dreadful and excruciating for the minutes to pass. I'm quite sure this has sthg to do with my lack of sleep.
Am I stressed? Well maybe.
Dang, I'm so frustrated I've to blog from my iPhone now. What's worse is, I can't even upload a photo on this mundane space! So to whomever who reads this space, too bad. I desperately need some adrenalin in my system. The aviation meeting in the morning did pump some in, but it dissipated so fast I was left in shock! Alright, all jokes aside, I honestly just need some good rest.
Skipping dinner tonight, for once, is definitely an option.
A good one too.
Wake up in the mrng feeling like P. Diddy

Haven't blogged in quite a while, and I'm feeling kinda irritated because I can't log onto Twitter and or Blogger anymore on my Mac. Must be the darn Chinese network ): Its a Saturday, love working on Saturdays, I'd opt for a Saturday work day than a Monday anytime.
Anyway, the past couple of weeks have been really rewarding. Of course, not forgetting the trip to Zhejiang, Qian Dao Lake. The view was magnificent, and the night's stay at Sheraton even better (: looking forward to Ningpo on Monday and Foxxcon in September! (: for now, it's loads of stuff to do and deadlines to chase.
On a side note, darn I can't believe Tiger's not qualified for WGC-HSBC this November. Sucks big time, I so wanted to see him play! ):
glorious foods

When you work 9 hours a day, wake up at 0630 hours to get to work, skip the free staff lunch because it's oily, salty and of China standard, you really can't help but dream of the food back home.

Oh goodness, I'm starving! Can you tell? I need to get back to have this claypot laksa from Alexandra market, coupled with some otah. You gotta love Singapore's food (: Beats staff lunch more than ten thousand times.
Sorry boss, for blogging during work hours.
I just, couldn't take it anymore.
my imagination's running

I miss you, so darn much.
I can't sleep, the paper tomorrow's freaking me out. I can hear Jon saying, I'm a Singaporean, I'm smart, I can do it. But I do not believe that Chinese people are any less smarter.
can't go back to how we were

I absolutely cannot wait to get marketing management exam out of the way, so I can get more time to myself before leaving for Singapore in 9 days.
Nine days! So darn excited, I've even planned the first three days of my journey like a kiasu tourist to Singapore for the first time. I've a things-to-bring list, things-to-buy list, people-to-meet list and a things-to-do list before I head back to Shanghai.
The air's so darn bad here, I've to spam so much body butter on my skin, now I smell like a walking blueberry instead of my Burberry Sheer. In this really bad summer heat, I'm gonna head to Starbucks, get some Tea Latte, look cool and study for tomorrow's paper.
& Hopefully, you'd be back before nine days are up.
i'll be

Haven't posted in a while. Things have been good in Shanghai, not much has changed, except more intense workload at school and at the club. Party-ing's been good as well (:
Gna head back to Singapore less than a month from now, a really last minute decision, but all for the better. I'm actually really looking forward to going home now, for awesome food so missed (my char kway tiao, ban mian, hokkien mee, fish soup, mee goreng) finally no more oily, salty made-in-china dumplings (ulgh), also to bowl (: And of course, to UITM, second year running. Hopefully it's better this time around, no more food fight of any sort.
I had an eventful past week and I shall let the couple of photos I got speak for themselves. It was to Dinosaur Park for amusement rides about two weeks ago, and 14th SHEN's Company Appreciation Dinner.

Batch 15th NUS Overseas Colleges, Shanghai
I love Po in the backgrop (:
Of course, my China Steve Maddens too!
& I need to go to Huang Shan soon. Shanghai/China, please stop raining.
Oh yes, I wanted to buy a instant camera off an online shopping website. It's the common Fujifilm one that many people are using. And it's way cheaper.
Should I get it? But I don't know if it holds warranty though.
Alright, I'm off to cook my dinner; long beans with minced meat and chilli, chicken soup with golden mushrooms. Happy birthday, Sis!
Bon appetite ♥
Hear you me

Work's not going to end for another two hours. Been the longest nine hours at Sheshan ever, and I'm feeling kinda odd. Something must be up. Had a really long night doing up just three slides and learning how to make my PowerPoint slides look prettier.
Darn, I hate technology. But well, so they say, if you don't embrace it, then be prepared to get swallowed whole in no time.
I think I need some time away from Shanghai. Though all Singaporeans supposedly love China because they're well respected and have a higher spending power than normal Chinese people. But I really kinda miss my mundane routines back home ): & I'd really wish to get back on the lanes soon.
That said, the month has been the best so far since February.
Am I looking forward to more? Maybe a good enough distraction. But not more than that.
I feel a fever coming.
Good day, World!
and i won't worry my life away

Dinner at the usual Pho Real, then Mesa later at night was pretty awesome. Had loads of fun with Liz, Pk, Alvin and all. Great company, lovely ambience, incredible crowd and music. Loved the place, definitely a must to revisit :D
I'm at work alone today, and the long metro ride down from home was a bitch. I was standing/walking to change lines for an entire hour and a half! Horrid crowd. I completely forgot it was a Saturday and that the theme park was next to Sheshan! I'll have to leave the club at 3pm to pick mum up from the airport. Time really flies in Shanghai, and I haven't really been around the city much, it is utterly ridiculous.
Before I close this post, I'd like to pose a question;
Can you tell distinctively, a Chinese person from the Mainland and a Singaporean?
You should take a trip down to China and experience life with the Mainland Chinese before answering. I'd say it is possible, but difficult. Well, unless he/she has super high slit eyes! Our ancestors were after all, from China. And with all that effort to differentiate ourselves from the Mainland Chinese, when it boils down to our roots, we're back to where we started.
How curious isn't it? Why we refuse to be associated with the Chinese from China.
have you ever?

Being selfless brings you a long way. Did you know that?
I spent the entire of my early night yesterday, sourcing for air tickets to Korea, Japan and back home. Shanghai has its perks, definitely not the sleepless nights with the mosquitoes, but I do miss my friends, family and the things I do every single week. Even if they were mundane, day-to-day routines; going to school, having school trainings at night, bowling leagues, training on Sundays. Gosh, I miss them all ):
Cooked myself some sick people food. Heading off to work in an hour.
And Shanghai's weather is so odd, sweltering heat just yesterday, but its cool and rainy today. Oh darn, going to work will be a bitch.
No sleep tonight
Saturday, May 07, 2011 || 8:00 AM
Didn't sleep a wink last night. Was in a battle with two mosquitoes, thousands of bites and a bad coughing fit.
And I'm right back at work today, 7am.
Had a good starbucks mrng, and I'm blogging from my mobile, on the way to work.
Polling's today. In all honest opinion, I'm not at all worried because the whites will win anyway. And they should, but the winning margin will probably be smaller than the past years'. You'd be ignorant if you think the elections are in complete transparency, or harbor any sort of hope that we'll have the opposition take over (two-party). We need change. But not now, gradually maybe.
I feel like having pho today, but i was alrdy planning to cook dinner! Besides, fatigue is really kicking in, and all I want is some good sleep.
It's gg to be a lonely Saturday night, but for today, I don't really care.

It's the Labour Day holidays in China too. I say 'too' because a friend said this, when I told him I'm having Labour day holidays;
'China has Labour Day too? But they're communist.'
Whatt? FYI, China has more public holidays than in Singapore (start counting all your Chinese festivals and add two extra days of holiday to them).
My day barely started, but it's going to be an awesome Sunday.
Hamilton's staring in Cars 2, I have to check that out. & my CMCC data/call plan starts today! Finally I'll have data on-the-go in China.
How about your Sunday? Have a splendid one, because Labour Day is only once every year (:
And I found out something interesting, I don't know if you already knew;
Kerb is British, and Curb is American. So are you British or American?
Check
David Armand out in Fast and Loose (UK). He's awfully funny!

Was so bored today, I actually resorted to doing my readings for tmr's TR class, while whatsapp-ing lester; The Chinese Mid-Consumer Market. A really interesting read I must say.
On a side note, I can't believe I've to resort to VPN just to use Google here. How ridiculous.
And! I desperately need someone to confiscate my ICBC internet banking card.
I couldn't help, but to get a bag from Taobao, because the current one I have that Sara got for me from Taiwan, is really breaking.
I need to stop the amount in my bank account from decreasing.
It's an emergency, and the red flag is up.
Brighter than ever.
Gosh.
deed done

Alright, a really short post before I get some sleep.
Had an awesome time at Dada on Saturday, of course after some really nostalgic time spent at Singapore day. It was surprising, because for that afternoon, nobody felt like we were in China!
And p/s, I got my free durians (:
& I had a last minute call to get back to Sheshan on a bluey-Monday.
Guess who came? Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen ♥

If you're still reading nasty reports about Hamilton, or Heikki for that matter, please cast them aside. It was absolute pleasure just speaking to both of these gentleman; so easy-going and funny! I felt so at ease to be honest.
So there's my absolute great Sheshan experience, a blues-free Monday!
Congratulations Hamilton, for winning Shanghai GP 2011.
& all the best for Turkey in three weeks to you both (:
HAMILTON (:

Omg. Lewis Hamilton's coming to Sheshan for a round of golf tmr morning.
And I've school.
Dang. To skip or not to skip?
Maybe I'll get tickets to watch the Grand Prix in Shanghai.
Now I'm hallucinating. Oh gosh, sometimes I hate Sheshan for having nice opportunities like these.
So, what do I do now? ):
